SFP Network Mixer Summary
The 2009 SFP Mixer started with everyone meeting in the VCB lobby to sign in and eat pizza. Around 7 o'clock, everyone made their way into Studio B for this year's first network meeting.
Meeting Notes:
- Bob Cruz needs volunteers for the 50th anniversary of the department.
- Vicky needs volunteers to give VCB tours to prospective students.
- Beverly informed students that bicycles are not allowed in the building at any time. She also asked students to make room reservations three days in advance, when possible. The lower door of the VCB facing Grant street will be locked at 11 PM, all other doors are locked at 5:30.
- Luke Hystad spoke about his upcoming play. He needs help with publicity.
- The 50th anniversary celebration takes place September 11th and 12th. It will include workshops, photo shows, film viewings, etc.
- The SFP Network website is officially in beta testing. The web address is sfpnetwork.org or msufilm.com. Students who have passed through the gate will be allowed to submit any films they made while in the program. It will also be a place for event information.
- Bob Arnold's "Town Hall" meeting is Wednesday, September 23rd at 6:30 PM in Studio B. It's a chance for sophomores, juniors and seniors to get to know the new department head as well as to express concerns/compliments about the department. He's providing pizza.
- Seniors were invited up to pitch their films.
- Juniors were invited up to pitch their films, which haven't been approved yet.
When the meeting ended, people who pitched spread themselves around the space to allow for questions and sign ups.

New SFP Network Site & Beta Testing
Hey Everyone, this is the new SFP Network website. Here you'll be able to view other student's work on the Student Films page, follow past meetings/events news here on this page, and checkup on coming dates on the Events page. Additionally, you'll be able to reach any of the officers straight through the Contact page. Currently, the site is under Beta testing and is not fully functional or necessarily functioning properly on all computers/browsers. If you experience a bug please report it by heading over to the Contact page. We hope to have the entire site functional by the end of September.
